Industrial Yard & Storage Area Hardening Solution

YITA soil stabilizer hardened industrial yard supporting heavy container trucks without dust

1. Overview

Industrial parks, logistics yards, freight yards, container storage areas, and mining stockpiles are subject to frequent heavy vehicle and equipment traffic, leading to ground settlement, potholes, and severe dust. Traditional concrete hardening is expensive, time-consuming, and difficult to later modify or restore for farming. Our solution uses YITA liquid soil stabilizer to solidify on-site soil, creating a high-strength, wear-resistant, dust-free hardened surface at a total cost over 70% lower than concrete.

2. Typical Challenges

● Ground settlement: Deformation of weak subgrades under heavy loads causes uneven surfaces, reducing operational efficiency.

● Severe dust: Unpaved or simple gravel surfaces generate dust on dry days and mud in wet weather, often failing environmental inspections.

● High maintenance costs: Frequent patching of potholes, sometimes requiring full renovation.

● Tight construction schedules: Long curing periods for concrete disrupt normal operations.

● Difficult later restoration: If the land needs to be converted to agricultural or green use, concrete removal is costly.

3. Solution Details

● Material selection: YITA liquid soil stabilizer (dosage 0.01%–0.05% of dry soil weight), optionally with a small amount of cement or lime.

● Structural design:

○ Light load areas (e.g., walkways, small car parking): 15 cm stabilized soil layer + sealing layer.

○ Heavy load areas (e.g., container yards, heavy truck lanes): 20–25 cm stabilized soil layer + optional graded gravel base + wear-resistant sealing layer.

● Construction method: Road mixing or plant mixing, roll compaction, cure for 7 days, then apply sealing layer before use.

● Load-bearing capacity: After stabilization, CBR ≥ 80%, unconfined compressive strength ≥ 2.5 MPa, capable of supporting vehicles up to 50 tons.

4. Synergistic Services

● Material supply: Provide stabilizer and compatible additives.

● Equipment support: Rent road mixers, rollers, water trucks, etc.

● Technical guidance: Dispatch engineers to the site for mix design and construction guidance.

● Investment cooperation: For large yard projects, participate through equipment-for-equity or joint investment models.

5. Case Data

● Industrial park yard in Central Asia: 20,000 m² heavy-duty yard, originally unusable mud ground. Used YITA stabilizer (0.04% dosage) + 3% cement, 25 cm thick stabilized soil layer. 7-day CBR reached 92%, 28-day unconfined compressive strength 3.8 MPa. Cost was only 28% of the concrete solution. Construction period 15 days (concrete would have taken 45 days). After two years of service, no settlement, no dust, only occasional reapplication of sealing layer in local areas.
