Soft Ground Treatment Solution

Soft ground (such as high-moisture clay, silty soil, peat, dredged fill, etc.) is characterized by high compressibility, low bearing capacity, and slow drainage consolidation. In projects such as roads, storage yards, and building sites, it easily leads to settlement, instability, or even failure. Traditional treatment methods (e.g., replacement filling, stone columns, drainage consolidation) are costly, time-consuming, and have significant environmental impact. This solution uses YITA liquid soil stabilizer through shallow stabilization or deep mixing technology to rapidly increase soft soil strength, reduce compressibility, and meet engineering design requirements. The total cost is over 50% lower than traditional replacement filling.
● Low bearing capacity: Heavy equipment cannot access the site; high risk of foundation settlement.
● High moisture content: Soft soil moisture content can reach 40%–80%, making compaction difficult.
● Tight construction schedules: Traditional drainage consolidation takes months, delaying project progress.
● High replacement cost: Excavating soft soil and importing good fill results in high transport and disposal costs.
● Environmental restrictions: Disposal of excavated soil is difficult and may involve contaminated soil treatment.
● Applicable scenarios: Road subgrades, storage yards, temporary sites.
● Materials: YITA liquid soil stabilizer (dosage 0.01%–0.05% of dry soil weight), optionally with 3%–6% cement or lime.
● Process: Road mixing method: spray stabilizer solution on surface soil, mix, roll, and cure.
● Results: 7-day CBR ≥ 80%, bearing capacity increased by 5–10 times.
● Applicable scenarios: High embankment subgrades, deep soft soil reinforcement.
● Materials: YITA liquid soil stabilizer (dosage 0.02%–0.08%), mixed with cement slurry or injected directly.
● Process: Use deep mixing rig or jet grouting equipment to forcibly mix stabilizer with soft soil, forming columns or walls.
● Results: Uniaxial compressive strength 0.5–2.0 MPa, significantly improving composite foundation bearing capacity.
For soft soil layers thicker than 3 m, a combination of "deep columns + shallow stabilization layer" can be used to control deep settlement while providing a hard crust layer.

● Material supply: Stabilizer, cement, admixtures.
● Equipment support: Deep mixing rigs, road mixers, water trucks available for rent.
● Technical guidance: Mix design, on-site construction quality control.
● Investment cooperation: For large soft ground projects, participate in joint bidding or technology-for-equity.
Solution | Cost per m² (USD) | Construction period (days/1,000 m²) | Waste soil volume | Applicable depth |
Replacement fill | 20–35 | 15–25 | High | < 1.5 m |
Stone columns | 25–40 | 20–30 | Medium | 2–6 m |
Stabilized soil shallow stabilization (this solution) | 8–15 | 5–8 | None | < 1.5 m |
Deep mixing columns (this solution) | 15–30 | 10–15 | None | 2–6 m |
● Significant cost savings: 50%–70% less than replacement fill, 40%–60% less than stone columns.
● No waste soil: On-site stabilization, no off-site soil transport, environmentally compliant.
● Short construction period: Shallow stabilization 5–8 days/1,000 m², deep mixing 10–15 days/1,000 m².
● Strong adaptability: Suitable for high moisture, organic, frozen, and other complex soft soils.
● Quality controllable: Mix design + on-site testing ensures bearing capacity meets requirements.
