Anti-Seepage Engineering

In hydraulic or environmental projects such as ponds, canals, reservoirs, landfills, and industrial tailings ponds, leakage can lead to water loss, environmental pollution, and even structural instability. Traditional anti-seepage measures (geomembranes, clay liners, concrete) have drawbacks such as vulnerability to damage, complex construction, and high costs. This solution uses YITA liquid soil stabilizer to react with on-site soil, forming a low-permeability stabilized layer with a permeability coefficient below 10⁻⁷ cm/s, achieving an integral, durable, and cost-effective anti-seepage result. The total cost is 30%–50% lower than geomembrane solutions.
Leakage loss: Water loss or hazardous liquid seeping into groundwater.
Geomembrane vulnerability: Punctures during construction, cracking with age, difficult repair.
Limited clay resources: High-quality clay is hard to source and expensive to transport.
Concrete cracking: Shrinkage or temperature cracks lead to leakage.
Strict environmental requirements: Anti-seepage layers must be long-term stable with no secondary pollution.
Material: YITA liquid soil stabilizer (dosage 0.02%–0.08% of dry soil weight), optionally with a small amount of cement.
Process:
Clear and level the base, compact.
Spray diluted stabilizer and mix with surface soil (depth 15–30 cm).
Roll and compact, cure for 7 days.
Multiple layers can be applied if needed, total thickness up to 50 cm.
Performance: Permeability coefficient < 10⁻⁷ cm/s, freeze-thaw and wet-dry resistant, forms an integral structure with the soil.

Material supply: Stabilizer and compatible additives.
Equipment support: Road mixers, rollers, water trucks available for rent.
Technical guidance: On-site mix adjustment and construction quality control.
Investment cooperation: For large hydraulic or environmental projects, participate in joint investment.
Solution | Cost per m² (USD) | Construction period | Service life | Repair difficulty |
Geomembrane (1.5 mm) | 6–12 | Fast | 5–10 years | Difficult |
Clay liner (30 cm) | 8–15 | Medium | 10–20 years | Medium |
Concrete (10 cm) | 20–35 | Slow | 20–30 years | Difficult |
Stabilized soil anti-seepage (this solution) | 5–10 | Fast | 10–20 years | Easy |
Cost-effective: 30%–50% less than geomembrane, over 70% less than concrete.
Seamless integral layer: No overlap leakage risk of geomembrane, no cracking issues of concrete.
Local materials: Uses on-site soil, no need to import clay or geosynthetics.
Durable and environmentally friendly: Forms an integral structure with soil, resistant to biological erosion, no plastic aging pollution.
Easy repair: Local damage can be repaired by spraying stabilizer and re-rolling.
